Quick answer
Download MSI Afterburner
MSIAfterburner466.exe · v4.6.6 · ~53 MB · free, from this site
Step-by-step guide
-
1
Install as normal
Download from our download page, keep RTSS checked for the overlay, and launch. Afterburner detects your Radeon GPU automatically. -
2
Raise the power limit
Give the card headroom by maxing the power limit, then apply. -
3
Tune clocks in small steps
Nudge core and memory clocks a little at a time and stress-test, exactly as in the overclocking guide. -
4
Try undervolting
Undervolting is especially rewarding on Radeon — many AMD cards run cooler, quieter and sometimes faster with a modest undervolt via the Curve Editor.
AMD-specific notes
Memory tuning has error correction, so pushing too far quietly drops performance instead of crashing — watch benchmark scores, not just stability. Some voltage or clock controls can be limited at the hardware level depending on the card and driver.
Afterburner vs AMD Adrenalin
AMD driver software (Adrenalin) has its own tuning, but Radeon owners still use Afterburner for its consistent interface across GPU brands, flexible RTSS overlay and custom fan curves. Do not apply the same overclock in both tools at once, to avoid conflicts.
