Quick answer
Download MSI Afterburner
MSIAfterburner466.exe · v4.6.6 · ~53 MB · free, from this site
Step-by-step guide
-
1
Download the installer
Get the file from our download page. Extract the ZIP (about 53 MB) and run the setup file. -
2
Allow the VC++ 2022 runtime
On a fresh Windows 11 machine the installer may download a small Microsoft runtime during setup. Let it — this is expected and keeps the download tiny. -
3
Keep RivaTuner checked
Leave RTSS ticked so the in-game FPS overlay works. You can skip it if you really do not want it. -
4
Approve the Windows prompts
Windows 11 User Account Control will ask for permission — normal for a tool that reads hardware sensors. If SmartScreen warns because you are an early downloader, confirm and continue. -
5
Launch and check the skin
Open Afterburner; it detects your GPU automatically and defaults to the MSI Windows 11 skin. Change skins any time under Settings, User Interface.
The Windows 11 skin & quad-fan control
Recent versions ship with the MSI Windows 11 skin in dark and light editions. On RTX 50-series cards with three or four fans, this skin also unlocks quad-fan control, so you can manage each fan group.
Run it at startup
Turn on Start with Windows and Start minimized under Settings, General so monitoring loads at boot. To make an overclock or fan curve persist, also enable Apply at startup. From here, continue with overclocking or the FPS overlay.
